Little Makers Studio Policies & Code of Conduct

We are so excited to make, create, and celebrate with all our Little Makers! All our programming is thoughtfully designed to ensure every participant has a positive, safe, and creative experience. Please read through all studio policies and terms prior to enrolling. These rules were made with the safety of your kids and our employees in mind. Our staff have been asked to enforce them.

By enrolling in a session, workshop, or event at Little Makers Studio (each a “Little Makers Studio Program” or “LMS” Program”), you agree to the following:

Adherence to Policies and Conduct Standards

Every LMS program, employees, and visitors must follow our general studio policies and code of conduct. We aim to keep the studio a welcoming, imaginative, and safe space for all participants. Disruptive, unsafe, or rowdy behavior will not be tolerated; anyone who does not follow our guidelines may be asked to leave. Thank you for helping us maintain a respectful and inspiring environment.

 

General Code of Conduct

• We are kind and respectful to all. Our goal is to foster imagination and creativity with equality, kindness, and respect for everyone who enters our whimsical doorway. You agree to help your child treat all participants with kindness and respect.

• We get messy—sometimes a lot. Creativity isn’t always neat, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for hands-on art activities. This means wearing clothes, shoes, and/or a smock that can get dirty.

• We respect our materials. We use a wide range of art supplies, some of which may be unsafe if used incorrectly. While we closely monitor children, accidents may occur. You understand that these materials are not for consumption and will remind your child to use them safely.

• Safety First. The safety of all children in our studio is our top priority. Our programs are designed for group participation, and staff cannot provide one-on-one support for children who need specialized supervision or care beyond our standard programming.

By enrolling, you acknowledge that your child has no physical, emotional, or social conditions that would make it unsafe or unwise for them to participate. Running in the studio is unsafe for everyone, so please remind your child to walk and participate safely.

If you are attending a program with your child, you are responsible for supervising them and ensuring they can participate safely. LMS is not responsible for the behavior or safety of children who require support beyond our standard programming. By attending, you acknowledge and accept this responsibility.

Little Makers Studio Program Enrollment Policies

Age restrictions:
Our programs are developed for the age range that best matches the materials, instructions, and developmental needs of that group. We also know that children grow and develop at different rates. If you feel that your child would benefit from being in an older or younger age group, reach out to us at info@littlemakersstudio.com and we will try our best to accommodate requests.

Any children under age 4 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at LMS.

​

Parent & Child programming:
Mini Makers, Tiny Makers, and Open Studio are for families to create together. A parent, Guardian (e.g. nanny, family member, or family friend) must be present, and should take this opportunity to engage and create with their child. 

​

Drop off programming:
After school programming, workshops, and day camps for Little Makers, along with our Crafty Creator Parties are geared for ages 4-8 and Studio Makers ages 9-12. These programs are drop off only. We value building confidence and independence and ask grown-ups to hang out in our Maker Marketplace or feel free to run an errand and arrive back at pick-up time.

Independence & Studio Expectations

To get the most out of our programs, children should be independent enough to follow simple instructions, use the bathroom on their own, manage their belongings, help with clean-up, and communicate needs to staff.

At Little Makers Studio, children are expected to follow our Studio Habits:

• Kind Words: Speak to everyone with respect and kindness.

• Safe & Calm Bodies: Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. No running or rough play.

• Listening Ears: Pay attention to instructors and follow directions.

• Keep Trying: Mistakes help us learn—try again, try something new, or ask for help.

• Help Each Other: Support friends and clean up your own messes.

If your child cannot comfortably meet these expectations, they should attend programming with a parent or guardian to provide guidance.

 

Bathroom Expectations

Children must be fully potty trained and able to use the bathroom independently, including wiping, pulling up clothing, and washing hands.

​

For safety, an instructor will escort your child to the restroom (located downstairs), wait outside the door, and walk them back to the studio. Children are never sent alone or left unsupervised in the building.

​

If Your Child Has an Accident

Accidents happen, and our staff will respond with kindness and discretion. You will be notified at pick-up. If bathroom issues become frequent, we may ask that you pause enrollment until your child is ready for fully independent restroom use.

This policy helps us keep all children safe, supported, and able to enjoy a positive studio experience.

 

What to bring to the studio

Please pack weather appropriate clothing, we do go outside when weather permits. Everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s full name.If your child occasionally has accidents, please pack a change of clothing for your child. Please pack snacks and lunch for your child during after-school programming and full-day camps.

For everyone’s safety and comfort, all food brought into the studio must be:

• Nut-free

• Celiac-friendly (we are sensitive to airborne gluten)

• Ready to serve (we’re not able to refrigerate or heat individual meals)*
  *We cannot allow outside food delivery. 

• Clearly labeled with your child’s name

 

Please let us know about any allergies your child has—whether they are airborne or ingestible—so we can help keep our space safe for them.

If your child does not have a snack or lunch, we will provide an allergy-friendly option for them (We may charge your account the cost of the snack/meal). We do keep a very small supply of extra snacks on hand for the occasional emergency, but not enough to provide for every child. If LMS has to provide a snack for your child three times, we will then apply a $10 fee for every recurrence (after informing the family, of course)

Cancellations, Make-up classes,  and  Payments

Full payment is due at enrollment, except for payment plans. Please email any cancellations or schedule changes to info@littlemakersstudio.com.

​

All changes, cancellations, or refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee, including transferring enrollment between days, especially if the program has a waitlist. This fee helps cover costs for vacated spots.

​

Credits or refunds are not issued after a program’s start date (Either first day of enrollment, or the first day of the program/semester), or for waitlisted programs. If a credit can be applied, it will be added to your account as a gift card (*see make-up sessions below). Otherwise, classes and sessions are non-refundable, including if your child misses a class due to illness, vacation, or scheduling conflicts.

Little Makers Studio allows one make-up class per semester (applicable to mini makers & camp sessions) due to illness or injury, provided there is availability in another class or session of the same activity. Make-up classes are subject to LMS discretion and class capacity and cannot be guaranteed. We do not offer make up sessions for After School Enrichment, or for drop-in sessions.

 

Program-Specific Rules

After-School Programs, Day Camps, and Workshops:

After school care is a full semester commitment. Enrollment is finalized after your child’s first class. We hold this spot for your child every week. Little Makers Studio allows one make-up class per semester (applicable to mini makers & camp session) due to illness or injury, provided there is availability in another class or session of the same activity. We don’t offer credits or refunds for days you choose to skip.

• Any requests must be emailed at least 2 weeks before the program starts..

• Weekly recurring classes cannot be made up or transferred if missed.

• Transfers are only possible if space is available.

 

Drop-In Classes (Read It Make It, Open Studio, Mini Makers, Tiny Makers):

• Requests should be emailed 24 hours before class and may be eligible for a credit.

• No refunds are offered for in-studio drop-ins or Open Studio.

 

Programs Cancelled by Little Makers Studio

• Little Makers Studio reserves the right to cancel any class or program as needed.

• If LMS cancels an individual workshop, we will offer a makeup class whenever possible (excluding After-School, where makeup classes are not possible). No refunds are provided when a makeup session is offered.

• If LMS cancels an entire program, we will provide a full refund, including any deposit.

 

LMS Programs Terms and Conditions

 

By checking this box and enrolling in a LMS Program, I agree to the following:

By providing your email address, you agree to receive Little Makers Studio newsletters and promotional materials. We will never share or sell your information, except with an LMS vendor solely for providing services or sending LMS promotional material.

Media Release

I consent to Little Makers Studio, its owners, members, employees, and agents, taking and using photographs, recordings, and videos of myself, my child, and my child’s artwork during my or my child’s participation in a LMS Program. I grant Little Makers Studio the right to disclose, edit, use, and reuse any such photographs, recordings, and videos of myself, my child and my child’s artwork for LMS’ promotional or marketing purposes, without compensation to me or my child. This includes use in print, on broadcasts, in online spaces (such as the LMS’ website and social media accounts), and all other forms of media.  Little Makers Studio shall not use my child’s name in connection with any such media.  

I also release Little Makers Studio, its agents, and employees from all claims, demands, and liabilities in connection with the rights granted above.

Waiver and Liability Release

I warrant that my child is able to follow directions for all activities in the LMS Program in which I am enrolling. I acknowledge that risks from participation in Program activities exist, such as exposure to a wide range of materials, including but not limited to: Paint, glue, pastel, chalk, fiber, wax, glue guns, wire, scissors and other small recycled parts, and I have allowed my child to attend the LMS Program knowing these risks and their possible consequences, including personal injury. 

 

As a parent or guardian of my child, I will not hold Little Makers Studio, its owners, members, employees, or other agents (the “Released Parties”) liable for any personal injury or property damage. I hereby release and hold harmless the Released Parties, from all claims, demands, and liabilities in connection with my or my child’s participation in a LMS Program, whether or not caused by the negligence of the Released Parties.
